HARRISBURG, PA — September 10, 2014 – Red Privet, a Pennsylvania-based customer research, digital design, and experience strategy firm with offices in Harrisburg and Philadelphia, celebrated its third annual Volunteer Day today by sorting, packing, and wrapping food boxes at the non-profit Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.
The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank distributes more than 32 million pounds of food and grocery products—equivalent to more than 27 million meals—every year to more than 800 soup kitchens, shelters, and food centers. Red Privet employees donated their time at the agency by sorting, assembling, and wrapping food packages for distribution to food pantries across 27 central Pennsylvania counties.
“Our region has a history of taking care of its own,” said Red Privet president and founder Matt Hummel, “Volunteering is in our spirit and culture, and we’re grateful to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank for allowing us help them keep our neighbors fed.”
Over the course of the day, Red Privet employees helped package over 200 boxes of dry goods and food for needy residents across the Susquehanna Valley.
