October 22, 2015 – Red Privet employees value the opportunity to give back to their community. That is why Red Privet celebrates a day of service each year. This year, employees spent their fourth annual Volunteer Day lending a helping hand at the non-profit Central Pennsylvania Food Bank in Harrisburg, PA.
The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank distributes more than 40 million pounds of food and grocery products, equivalent to nearly 33 million meals, every year to more than 800 soup kitchens, shelters, and food pantries in 27 central Pennsylvania counties. These agencies directly feed thousands of hungry families throughout central Pennsylvania.
“Community and volunteerism are important to us at Red Privet, and we’re grateful to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank for allowing us help our neighbors in need”, said Matt Hummel, president and founder of Red Privet. “They’re a great organization with a very worthy cause.”
To help aid the cause in reducing hunger, Red Privet employees sorted, packed and wrapped eight pallets of food for Susquehanna Valley families, weighing over 9,000 pounds in total.
“We recognize that we are all very fortunate. It was a rewarding day”, said Hummel.
